Company & Leah's 8th Birthday/Baptism

We just had a very special weekend. Leah celebrated her 8th birthday and was baptized a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Grandpa and Grandma Nelson and Janna drove from Pennsylvania, and Uncle Aaron, Aunt Lisa, and their girls (Lydia, Hannah, Jenny and Rachel) drove from Texas to be with Leah on this special occasion. The ordinance was beautiful in its importance and simplicity. We were happy Leah was able to feel such happiness in this sacred ordinance.

For Leah's birthday, we celebrated at a nearby indoor pool. Then we enjoyed Leah's birthday cake which she decorated herself. She wanted a "brownie cake" with three layers. So, we made Symphony bar brownies in three layers and she added a few icing decorations. If you've never had Symphony bar brownies, you're going to have to give the a try. Just take a brownie mix, make it like normal, pour half the batter in the pan and layer 3 Symphony bars on top. Then, pour the rest of the batter on top and cook according to the package directions. So easy and really rich & yummy!

Some of the pictures below are from Presidents' Day that we spent "relaxing" at Chuckie Cheese.

We were very grateful to spend time with family this weekend. We missed our family that was unable to make it, but we recognize that they were with us in thoughts and spirit. We love all of you!

Tell Leah happy birthday and congratulations on her special day! Looks like you all had a lot of family and friends attend. I can see Kaitlyn in Hyrum! Same smile almost! He's so big now sitting up in the chuck e cheese rides! Hope to see you all around spring break. My dad had a job interview here in VA so they might not be in Atlanta much longer!
