February

This post is just going to be filled with random things from February.

I took Amy to an indoor trampoline park which was having a special.  I didn't get any great pictures, but she loved it.

We celebrated Hyrum's 7th birthday!  He chose a red velvet cake and wanted to decorate it all by himself, so we traced a Skylander picture onto sugar paper and let him color it with edible markers.

We didn't get a picture of his birthday dinner.  He chose his traditional birthday spaghetti dogs and cucumbers.  This year he also decided to add something new and requested boiled peanuts!

We had quite the ice storm for 2 days.  We lost power for about 17 hours.  It was around 50 degrees in the house.  We wore layers and hats/gloves and waited it out.  The power line to our house came down across our driveway so we weren't sure how safe it was to go anywhere.

This tree in our back yard split with the storm and is only standing right now because it is leaning on some branches of a neighboring tree.

Icicles coated everything.

Winter wonderland at our house.  Notice also our van antennae is covered in ice.

The kids earned tickets to the circus through the library, so we had a fun time as a family at the Barnum and Bailey circus.  We were very impressed with the show!  It far exceeded our expectations.  I'm not sure why the performers aren't Olympic athletes.  They were certainly talented!  I think there should be a circus category for the olympics (impressive gymnastics feats, crazy motorcycle stunts, etc.).

Hyrum attended his first cub scout Blue and Gold banquet where he earned his Tiger badge!  The banquet was cowboy-themed.

Donut on a string eating contest

After the Blue and Gold banquet we headed to a music night at the home of some friends where Leah played The Bach double with her teacher and Kaitlyn played "Modern Sounds" on the piano:

Finally, here are our Georia snowmen.  Pretty unimpressive but the kids still had a lot of fun!
