Hyrum's birthday and baptism

Hyrum had a special birthday this year.  He turned 8 which meant he was able to choose to be baptized into The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  We made a special trip to Pennsylvania so he could be baptized along with his cousin Tanner who is one day older than Hyrum.  It was a quick trip, but very special.  Hyrum said that being baptized felt like the warmest blanket in his bed, and receiving the Gift of the Holy Ghost felt like he was happy and he was a little bit sure that he would return to his Heavenly Father.
Hyrum got to decorate his cake the way he wanted.

Hyrum's new "tuxedo".  He requested a tuxedo thinking that meant a suit.

The Primary aged cousins sang "When I Am Baptized" as part of the program.  Leah and Kaitlyn played a violin duet, "I Believe in Christ" after the baptisms while Hyrum and Tanner got dressed.  The next day they also had the special experience of playing "The Lord is my Shepherd" with their Aunt Dianne, and Pap Pap in sacrament meeting with their Grandma Nelson accompanying.  We felt fortunate for the experience of a 4-generation musical number.  We recorded each of these pieces outside of the meetings, so you are seeing practice sessions.

Leah and Dianne also had fun playing Bach's Double together:

We were grateful to spend this special weekend with family, and we greatly missed those in our family and our friends who couldn't be there.  We love each family member dearly!
