Cub Scout Pinewood Derby and Temple Day

Hyrum enjoyed his 2nd Cub Scout Pinewood Derby.  He designed the car himself and did the majority of the work with Dad's minimal help.  He was pretty happy with his creation.

Hyrum with his Cubmaster, Sister Pruitt

Sister Pruitt also organized a temple day for the cub scouts to pass off requirements both in scouting (visiting a place of reverence) and with the Faith in God program.  It was very nice to go as a family and feel the peace of the temple.  We were able to go inside the waiting area and spend some quiet time as a family as well.  We were able to talk about what it means to have faith and different ways to recognize the Spirit communicating with us.  Learning to recognize the influence of the Holy Ghost is a process that sometimes requires a lot of patience.  It was nice as a parent to feel peace that our children can continue to learn and grow in the gospel.  Even if they don't have all the answers they desire right now, all things can work together for their good.
