Where's Georgia?

After two days in the van, packed to the gills with as many critical belongings we could manage, we arrived in Duluth, GA. We're "moved in" to our apartment -- living on mostly camp furniture -- and beginning to explore the area to see what the surrounding towns are like. Kaitlyn is still trying to grasp the concept of moving, so every time we venture outside, she asks us where Georgia is. We've tried to explain that Georgia is everything she sees, but we're not sure she understands yet. She was very relieved, though, when she spotted a McDonald's here in Georgia. All is right in her world. We're trying to get Leah enrolled in 1st grade -- and it's proving to be quite difficult. Genevieve questioned what would happen if we just kept her out (as Georgia schools dismiss for summer in May) and the school secretary was concerned that she might not pass the exams to get into the 2nd grade. They're in for quite a shock when Leah descends on their classes.

Our life has been an interesting one. We have three children -- each born in a different part of the country. We have our Utah-Mormon Leah, our laid-back Midwestern Kaitlyn, and now our blue-blood Yankee Hyrum. Now we live in the South -- so we'll see what kind of personalities our children finally develop.

I'm glad you are all adjusting to Georgia. Who wouldn't feel secure after seeing a McDonald's arch? We loved seeing you on your way down. Thanks for staying with us!
