In the Leafy Treetops

It is past 11:30pm. Last night well after midnight, the same thing happened. It's getting uncomfortably warm down here already and we need to open the windows at night to cool down. This cracks me up...how are we supposed to sleep like this? What kind of bird feels the need to let it all out in the middle of the night? You might think this is going to be a lullaby...you obviously haven't yet listened. So, here is a seranade for you. Our birds don't sing "good morning" (or at least this one doesn't). Okay, I guess it is technically morning after midnight. Oh, brother!
And, no, you can't see anything...it's the middle of the night!

I can't believe you recorded. I'd have been pointing more than a camera, a slingshot comes to mind...When we were in Arizona Tom and I both got up thinking Jake was crying in his room at the other end of the house. We finally figured out it was coyotes yapping behind the house. They sounded just like a crying baby.

Oh, we've thought of pointing something at the bird but have found it an awkward situation since the bird resides in our neighbor's tree and they happen to be animal lovers.

That was LOUD! You might want to try setting some "special" birdseed out for your little friend. Then you wouldn't be actually knocking it out of your neighbor's tree. (obviously I'm not an animal lover) ;)

What a great science project waiting to happen. First identify the type of bird & what it eats & why it's nocturnal... and you already have the birdcall ready to share. :D Sorry it's so disruptive to your sleep, though.

Oh my! That's crazy! Maybe after a while you'll just get used to it? Ha! Good luck with that. Oh and it was fun talking to you guys at Mom and Dad's yesterday!

That is way too funny!!! Destry says he would rather have the bird than a dog in the middle of the night.
