Paleography Fun

One of my friends in the ward has been taking family history research classes with me through BYU-Idaho.  She took a paleography course this summer (the study of handwriting) in which she had to make a quill and ink.  I didn't take the course because I had previously taken it at BYU about 20 years ago.  She invited me over to learn how to make the quill and ink and then I brought the supplies home where Amy and Kaitlyn had a lot of fun testing the materials.  The ink was made from crushed berries.

Tanner NEEDS to take this class someday. All on his own he's made berry ink in the backyard and quills from feathers. Hahaha!
