April 2024

We started April with a Spring Break trip to Nashville, Tennessee! We decided to take the trip to see the total eclipse at the end of the week. We watched General Conference in a VRBO house, toured Nashville, and then travelled to Illinois to see the eclipse.

We toured the National Museum of African American Music. This was a really wonderful experience. We got to try our hand at creating different types of music.

We went to an escape room and almost escaped.

We thought the Nashville library was pretty cool!

We played lots and lots of ping pong!

The total eclipse was unlike anything we have ever experienced. It was simply amazing. The day went to dusk, the temperature noticeably dropped, a cool breeze came through, the sun rays were bright white behind the moon. We were able to meet up with another family from our ward who happened to be at the same location.

Hyrum attended Church Prom with a group of friends (not a date).

 We celebrated Amy's 14th birthday!

Jared's birthday was a very busy day. Hyrum participated in a jazz band festival and our stake had a Stake Choir concert. One of our state house of representatives and our local mayor came to the choir concert! We celebrated Jared's birthday a different day.

We were very excited to welcome Kaitlyn home for the summer!

Amy had a fever on the night of her honors orchestra concert. I went and recorded the concert anyway since she had been working hard on the pieces and I wanted her to have a recording. Hyrum had a class band concert the same evening.

We had the opportunity to work with our ward members in cleaning up a backyard.
