The kids found a kitty they thought was a stray in Pennsylvania. It looked way too groomed to be a stray. They begged to keep it (amongst several families) but were denied. Hyrum's allergies acted up, but he said it was worth it.
Grandma and Pap Pap Furin were sick over the holidays, so we visited with them over a video call.
We got back to Georgia and started post-Christmas life. Leah and Kaitlyn flew back to Utah. As Genevieve was taking down Christmas, she discovered that Hyrum had decorated every reindeer ornament on the tree like this:
Hyrum and Amy had a tri-ward ice-skating youth activity.
Leah celebrated her birthday in Utah. We treated her and Kaitlyn to a sushi buffet.
We had snow and ice which led to digital school for three days and Jared worked from home for a day.
Hyrum and Genevieve shoveled the driveway so that the snow would not turn to ice.
This is less than 1/2 a mile from our house. Jared was stuck here for probably over 20 minutes trying to get home from work because someone had slid off the road into a brick mail box and the police shut down the road.
We were able to work on the garage a bit.
Genevieve discovered that an N95 mask makes a pretty good scarf for cold temperatures!
Hyrum tried out and participated in Jan Fest, a music festival at UGA in Athens.

Hyrum also participated with his jazz band at the Georgia Music Educators Association conference on January 31st. They were joined by Marshall Gilkes, an accomplished trombonist from New York. They performed two of his original compositions.
