Sitting with Santa

We have a nightly devotional of sorts during December, so Jared wisely decided that since we have a lesson daily, Family Home Evenings in December will be just for fun. Last night we went to Bass Pro Shops so the kids could see Santa. We were pretty impressed. They had some fun activities as well, and it's all free. They even take a nice picture for you with Santa! Hyrum surprised us by trying to constantly cut in line trying to get to Santa NOW! Then, when it was his turn, he immediately regressed to age-appropriate behavior and was scared stiff. He didn't cry, though, so we thought that was a success. Now when he sees his picture he proudly states that he sat on Santa's lap! The girls each wrote a letter to Santa while we were there, and I was impressed that neither one asked for anything until I suggested they include a request. It was a very fun evening, and if you have a Bass Pro Shop around, I would recommend the experience. Plus, I would recommend a weeknight for minimal crowds.

That sounds so fun! It doesn't look there are any Bass Pro shops in WA, though. :( That is a cute Santa picture. The girls' letters to Santa are very sweet; I love how Leah left it up to Santa's judgment. =)

Wow! That looks great! I don't know if we have those here or not. Way to get Hyrum to sit on Santa's lap. We're hoping Tanner will do ok at the Ward Christmas Party because Santa will look a LOT like his Dad. ;)

I remember getting a polaroid picture taken with Santa at Sears when we were little. That's a great memory they can keep!
