Kaitlyn recently wrote a story at school which was chosen to represent all the 1st grade students from their school and is now in a competition with other schools. We're very proud of her! The best part for us, though, is listening to her tell the story. She can't ever tell it without giggling uncontrollably! She was given the topic of what would happen if she built a snowman that came to life. Here's her story:
"One day I built a snow girl first I put some cole for eyes. Second I put the buttuns. Oh, no! I exclaimed. I forgot the nose! I ran in the house and got a carot then I went to the closet and got my finest red scarf and finest blue hat. (Girl stuff) and put the hat on her head and the scarf on her neck and all of a sudden when I came back with her arms (sticks) she had moved! Ahh! I exlaimed. What? My snow girl asked. I gasped and exlaimed in a shivery voice your talking to me. Of course I am. Now could you give me my arms? OK I announced still puzzeld about how she came alive. Then I looked back and saw her moving with my real eyes! How can you move! I shouted. I don't know. she announced. You don't know! I howled. Nope. She answered. OK. I declared. If you can talk, walk and all that the can you jump? I asked. She jumped into the air. OK you can go anywhere except one place. Where? She asked. In people houses. I whispered. Why? she asked because peoples houses have heat up and you will melt. OK. She answered. As she waltzet down the sidewalk. My mouth was hanging open she threw a snowball in my mouth and giggled. I threw a snowball in her eyes. Her eyes fell out. She could'nt see so she walked on the street SPLAT! She got hit by a car. I giggled loudly. Mom came out what's so funny she asked look at my snow man I giggled. Once more I made a snow man scarf, hat, sticks, balls of snow, coal, carrot, hat, and this time even gloves but then.............AHH!"
Congratulations, Kaitlyn!
