On our way home we had a few funny things happen. Amy was pretty fussy for some of the ride, since she was sick of the car. At one point she tried a different tactic than throwing a fit. She shouted out, "I'm crying!" Pretty funny for us but didn't change anything for Amy. Hyrum got some toothpaste in his hair on our last night at a hotel. On the way home he declared, "I think I need a bath!" And, the last bit of humor...we were traveling east on I-20 and I made Jared make a 911 call (because I knew I'd never be able to get through the call without busting out laughing). He had to call and say "Hi, we're traveling east on I-20 at mile marker 156, and there's an emu running down the freeway". That's right, we had an emu running towards us! The dispatcher said there was an emu farm nearby, so she would let them know. Pretty good road trip entertainment! Click here and here for emu pictures if you're wondering what we saw. And, yes, they're FAST! Another cool thing about Spring Break was that the Easter Bunny found us at our hotel AND he came to our house while we were away! We came home to a full-fledged egg hunt! On our trip back we passed a NASCAR race track and Hyrum was very excited because that's just like Lightning McQueen from Disney's CARS movie. He decided that the Easter Bunny must use a car like that to be able to zoom around from the hotel to our house so fast!

Spring Break
We just got back from a very fun Spring Break trip. Our kids knew we were going to Texas for my niece's baptism. What they didn't know was that we were surprising them with a beach trip to Pensacola Beach, Florida first. When we crossed the Florida border, Kaitlyn was very upset with us for listening to "that GPS" because it took us the wrong way! Leah was groaning that now to correct our course we were going to have to drive along the entire gulf of Mexico! Once we told them what we were really up to they were very excited! We spent Tuesday night and all day Wednesday at the beach. Amy doesn't appear in any pictures because she played at the beach only while it was raining and we didn't want to get the camera wet. She loved playing in the ocean and the sand but was shivering so much we decided to not have her play as long as the others. Even with not perfect weather, we still had a great time.
Wednesday morning before playing on the beach, we took a trip to the Navy base to watch the Blue Angels fly. That was definitely a highlight! Here are some pictures and video clips we took.
Thursday morning we went on our way to Texas and had a lot of fun with our family there. It was wonderful to attend Hannah's baptism.

Wow what a trip! You guys are fun parents to throw in a surprise stop at the beach. And Genevieve you are looking SO good! Can't believe there was an Emu. Doubt you guys will be forgetting that trip any time soon. And what a great Easter Bunny you guys have. ;)
So I was going to say "Genevieve you look so good!" and then I just saw Andrea beat me to the punch. Oh well, I'm still saying it anyways! Looks like a really fun spring break! I miss the beach.
Ditto on that Genevieve, and that's a great getaway. I love the humor bits! Emus- Steven was attacked by one so I was laughing that somebody else has an emu story now!!
We are so glad that you were able to come. Next time you can stay at our house! We enjoyed having you here!
What a fun trip! I love that Leah and Katilin knew that you were going the wrong way! I would have never even known at that age. You look great Genevieve! Your hair looks good too!
