November was a month full of family because we decided to drive to Utah for Thanksgiving Break. That trip will be the bulk of this post, but first there were some band and orchestra things.
We found this video of Hyrum and the band having a blast during one of the football games:
Amy participated with some friends in a Solo Ensemble event. They received a superior rating.
She also participated in several concerts both with her middle school orchestra and with Kendall Orchestra (an audition-based community orchestra for 6th-8th graders). Here are the links to the concert pieces.

We drove to Utah for Thanksgiving and took the southern route hoping to avoid snow storms. We were glad we did. At one point we could see clear skies to the south of us and stormy skies to the north of us.
We spent some time at BYU with our kids. It was wonderful having them all together again!
We loved spending time with family!
Genevieve's mom made a Thanksgiving pinata that everyone enjoyed trying to open.
We got in some football Thanksgiving morning.
We decided to take some family pictures.
We attended the Orem Temple Open House which was a special experience.
We also took the opportunity to go as a family to the Payson Temple to act as proxies for baptisms.
We went out for Macys ice cream after the temple.
We loved getting the chance to visit with Eric and Morgan and their family while we were in Utah.
Back in Santaquin, we had an impromptu singing session as a family for anyone who wanted to join in. It brought back lots of memories of singing as a family while growing up.
Amy was delighted that our last night in Utah it started snowing. We enjoyed the snow the next morning as well.
We took the southern route again to go home. We had some breathtaking views. This time we didn't avoid snow, however, and some of the drive was very scary.
