We visited the memorial sites for the World Trade Center. That is a somber yet beautiful site. It's very quiet as people visit and reflect.
We saw the Statue of Liberty via the Staten Island Ferry.
The coast guard followed us until we were past the Statue of Liberty. It was also sobering to have the machine gun pointed at the ferry as we headed out.
We had a great time eating in NYC. We ate at one of the best Pizza places in NYC one night, Grimaldi's and ate in China Town the next night.
This really was fabulous pizza. I think it's because they used fresh Mozzarella cheese. It makes me want to learn to make Mozzarella cheese...it was that good!
Grimaldi's is in Brooklyn so we had fun looking at the Brooklyn Bridge and the NYC skyline.
Walking around Grand Central Terminal
Walking the streets of NYC
Our last touring spot was the New York public library. What a beautiful building! The Rose reading room was unfortunately closed, but we enjoyed looking around. This library was featured on the movie "The Day After Tomorrow".
Children's room
The library had a display on Children's literature. This is the car from The Phantom Tollbooth.
The room from Goodnight Moon. Amy insists she used to live here. It was her favorite part of the display.
Kaitlyn, Amy & Hyrum by the original Winnie the Pooh Bear.
Scene from The Secret Garden.
Hyrum through the rabbit hole from Alice in Wonderland.
The last thing we saw in NYC was the Manhatten Temple for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latterday Saints. We had to look as we drove by.
Goodbye New York! It was fun!

Awww! Loved the great memories from our trip. Definitely need to go there again. Next time you go, we'll join you! Can't wait to see Jared's commercial! :)
You guys are troopers to drive so much, but what a fun trip! NYC looks like a fun place. I've never been and you've sold me. Except for the 12 miles in one day thing. Can't believe your kids did that.
