Aunt Geniel's Visit

We were privileged with a visit from Geniel April 23-May 9th.  We packed in a lot of fun and really enjoyed getting to know her better.  Lots of pictures to follow!

Nature walk with Aunt Geniel

Our ward Primary had a temple activity where we got to take a tour of the temple grounds and go inside the waiting area while the assistant matron spoke with us.  It was a very nice day.

This picture is the from our ward Church building.  Geniel loved the Azaleas we have here, so we had to snag a picture.

Geniel had to try fried green tomatoes while on her Southern adventure!

We took a trip to the Atlanta zoo.

Amy and Geniel got to feed the giraffes!

We took a trip to Jaemor Farms, a local farmer's store stocked with all kinds of fresh produce and country fare.
They also have a barbeque stand, so Geniel wanted to try some authentic Southern BBQ.

Geniel and Amy sure became pals!

We spent another day at the Margaret Mitchell House in Atlanta.  Margaret Mitchell wrote Gone With the Wind.  Geniel's a huge Gone With the Wind fan so we really enjoyed our tour.

This is the original painting from the movie.

This is the original door from the movie set.

I got to be the man...

Southern bells.

After the Margaret Mitchell house we had to stop by a recommended restaurant, Mary Mac's in Atlanta.  It was great authentic Southern fare.

Another day Geniel treated us to a picnic dinner at Lake Lanier.

We had a ton of fun while she was here and we miss her already though we know her family was glad to have her back.  We look forward to the next visit!
