August 2020

We decided to have an actual mini-vacation before school started. We went to Unicoi State Park in north Georgia and rented a cabin for a few days. We enjoyed playing games, tubing, outdoor activites, and ziplining.

Amy wanted to stop at the Cabbage Patch museum since she couldn't remember what it was like.

We were able to participate as a family in the wedding of a very close family friend. Jared and I were privileged to attend her temple sealing in the morning. Jared officiated in a ring ceremony later that evening. Leah and Kaitlyn played violin duets for the prelude and for part of the reception. Hyrum and Amy were the MCs for the reception. The first four photos below were from a favorite photographer, Lori Collett.

Amy was excited to get a new kitten which she named Loki.

We had a very weird first day of school on August 12th. It was completely digital. Instead of buying new school clothes, we opted for buying new pajamas. Kaitlyn and Hyrum opted to not wear their pajamas on camera with their classmates.

I made a schedule of what Kaitlyn, Hyrum and Amy would be doing for each segment of the day. It was a lot to keep track of. Fortunately, they were pretty independent.
