We just got back from a fun mini-trip for Spring Break with choice friends Lauralee & Megan. I'll have pictures and comments for the trip soon. Tonight, I have to write about Hyrum because he's just so funny sometimes. We were at an indoor water park and I got him to leave peacefully by telling him that we would go home and we could watch a movie with popcorn (we rarely break out the popcorn, I admit). He immediately agreed and his wheels started turning for the 4-hour ride home. He never fell asleep which was amazing given the hardcore playing in the water. He asked on the way home if we could sit on beach towels during the movie. Little did I know just how thoroughly he planned our movie night.
As soon as we got home he gathered beach towels for each member of our family. I had to explain that Daddy wouldn't need one because he's not here (will be returning tomorrow), and Kaitlyn fell asleep in the car and was in bed. He laid out towels for himself, me, Leah & Amy, who in his words would "be here any second" (she fell asleep in her car seat and was in the other room).
He picked the movie, "Little Einsteins" which isn't a big thriller for me or Leah. I got the movie started and popped the popcorn, then started checking phone messages & e-mails. Leah was reading. Hyrum came to each of us repeatedly and said, "Hey, you're going to miss the movie!" We came to join him, and he accepted that Leah could read while watching. He divided the popcorn among our towels and is still monitoring everyone's participation. I saw him telling Leah to open her mouth while he fed her popcorn because she wasn't keeping up! I better get back to the movie myself! :)
