Oh, Amy!

Amy has a fun personality if you haven't caught that.  The other night in her prayer she said, "Mom was mad at me but she's not mad at me anymore.  I don't know why.  I don't like to go to church."  Today we dropped off a lot of food we've collected for a local food drive.  Our church has been asked to reach out to neighbors and friends to collect food for the Atlanta Food Bank.  We collected some, and I wanted to drop it off so it wasn't covering our dining room floor.  Amy started freaking out when I started taking the food into the drop off location.  She kept crying, "Don't take my food!"  I finally asked if she wanted to help take it in thinking that would help.  She brought in a bag and seemed fine but started sobbing again on the way out.  "You're taking my food!  You're taking my food!"  I asked her if she was hungry, but she didn't seem to be.  On the way home she said, "You stealed my food!" and she was heartbroken.  I tried explaining that the food never was ours and we had collected it to feed people who are very very hungry.  She cried for several more minutes and then said, "I WANT them to be hungry"!  I offered her a granola bar and she said, "I want a hug...because you stealed my food."  She's a fun one to raise!  :)
